FAQ

Common questions.

What is the EU AI Act?

The EU AI Act is the European Union's regulation on artificial intelligence. It classifies AI systems into risk tiers — prohibited, high-risk, limited, and minimal — and sets obligations for each, including documentation, transparency, and human oversight requirements.

What counts as high-risk AI?

Systems used in areas like employment, credit scoring, medical devices, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure are typically classified as high-risk under Annex III. These carry the strictest compliance obligations short of an outright ban.

Do startups need to comply?

It depends less on your size than on your role. If you're a provider (you built or substantially customized the system), you carry documentation and conformity duties. If you're a deployer (you're using someone else's system as-is, e.g. calling an LLM API), your obligations are lighter — mainly disclosure and human oversight. Run the scanner with your role selected to see which applies to you.

What happens if I ignore the Act?

Fines scale with the violation: up to €35M or 7% of global turnover for prohibited practices (social scoring, untargeted biometric surveillance, and similar); up to €15M or 3% for most provider, deployer, and transparency obligations — the tier that applies to almost everyone; and up to €7.5M or 1% for supplying incorrect information to authorities. For SMEs and startups, the fine is the lower of the fixed sum or the percentage, not the higher — so the real exposure is usually much smaller than the headline figures suggest.

When does the Enhanced Report launch?

No fixed date yet — we're validating demand first. It'll be the same AI analysis as the free scanner, generated by Claude, going further: your provider/deployer role shapes every section, each list is expanded rather than summarized, and you get a polished PDF you can forward. Joining the list below is the fastest way to hear the moment it's ready.
